SERVING OUR COMMUNITY
SINCE 1852

WE’RE DEDICATED
TO EXCELLENCE.

Your all-volunteer fire department has been providing highly trained firefighters to serve and protect the citizens of Washington, Missouri, and provide mutual aid to surrounding communities since 1852.

ALL VOLUNTEER.
ALL THE TIME.

The Washington Volunteer Fire Company (W.V.F.C.) has been a professional volunteer service since 1852, providing manpower to serve and protect the citizens of the both the City of Washington and the Washington Community Fire Protection District. The W.V.F.C. is responsible for responding to incidents within both areas, ensuring that all equipment and apparatus are in ready status, maintaining all stations, and providing guidance to both entities for our every growing community.

Their speed and professionalism saved our family and our home. Could not be more thankful -
Ronald & Susan

Become

a Firefighter

Firefighters are required to maintain a minimum level of training to reduce the possibility of injury to themselves, their crew mates, and those they serve. They are also expected to serve on committees and assist the Fire Company with other tasks that do not involve emergency incidents. Firefighters are assigned to a station and report directly to their assigned company officer. They are expected to assist with the weekly station assignments. Assignments may include but are not limited to vehicle maintenance, fire apparatus and equipment check, engine house cleanup, and building maintenance.
